Good to Know Wedding Questions
We are sure that you will have a thousand and one questions regarding your special day.
Here are some questions we are often asked ... and remember if you have anything else you need to know, just ask!
Will our wedding be legally recognised back at home?
Your marriage will be legal in accordance with Maltese law and conducted by an official Marriage Officer, Registrar or Priest in the case of a Church wedding. However, your marriage certificate, issued here, is proof that you are legally bound by law and this will also stand as legally binding in your own country. To put your mind at rest, you can acquire this information before you travel to Malta.
Who will conduct our service and where?
In the case of a Catholic wedding, our local priest Father Tony will celebrate Mass in English. For a civil ceremony, a local Registrar will conduct the ceremony in English with two witnesses of your choice. We would be happy to act as witnesses if you are celebrating a wedding for two. There is also an opportunity if you wish for one or two short readings. The wedding ceremony will take place either in the Public Registry Office found in Malta's historical capital city Valletta or wedding halls, castles and Palaces (Palazzos) for a more elite affair. Many four and five-star hotels also have licenses to hold your wedding ceremony and reception if you wish.
Can we have a church ceremony, blessing or renew our vows?
Yes, we can organise a religious marriage, blessing and renewal of vows which will be celebrated in the church of one's denomination.
Do you organise honeymoon and anniversary packages?
We can tailor-make your holiday to meet your requirements and we can help you choose a package to suit you. Whatever your special occasion, we can help you find your dream honeymoon, possibly in another destination, accesible via Malta or celebrate your special anniversary here on the islands.
